The Stone Ship on Steam
In The Stone Ship, paintings, maps, and photographs expand into living scenes, revealing hidden paths that lead back in time to the origins of an ancient megalithic monument.
The Stone Ship tells a wordless story in which the player, an unnamed explorer, follows the trail of a previous traveller. Spells and ancient rituals unlock hidden doorways within everyday objects, leading back, deeper and deeper in time.
The game features hand-painted textures and artwork, and an original musical score composed by classically trained violinist Caroline Karpinska. The ancient structure in the game is based on Ale's Stones, a real Iron Age stone ship formation in southern Sweden.
It is a single‑player, first‑person mystery‑exploration game featuring puzzle elements and navigation challenges.
The Stone Ship began as a chapter of Overlook Trail, but evolved into its own standalone experience due to its distinct style and focus. Designed as a short, linear experience of around one hour, the game will be available entirely for free on July 31st for PC, Mac and Linux.
